Text to 911 Business Card

Text-to-911 during an emergency now is available in Kingman County.

The Kingman County Sheriff 911 Communications has completed testing for Text-to-911 and the service is available with plans from AT&T, Spring, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless. Text-to-911 will be a valuable service to the deaf and hard of hearing community.

Situations in which Text-to-911 is appropriate include deaf and hard of hearing callers, a caller who is unable to speak due to a medical or other condition, and emergencies that would put the caller in danger to make a voice call. Examples of the last situation include abduction, domestic violence or an active shooter.

Calling 911 should remain the first and best option. Please only use text service in certain situations, such as those mentioned here. Remember, "CALL if you can, TEXT if you can't."
