About the Commission
Kingman County elects three County Commissioners. Terms are staggered so there is always an experienced Commissioner on the Board, ensuring the county's best interests are always front and center.
Districts
Kingman County is divided into three districts and each district elects one Commissioner. Districts are divided to be as compact and equal in population as possible.
Duties
The County Commission is vested with broad power in conducting the business of the county. County Commissioners have a variety of statutory duties, all of which are spelled out in the Kansas Statutes Annotated (K.S.A.). In particular, the powers of the Commissioners are provided in K.S.A.19-212.
Attend Meetings
Commissioners have many things on their plates when they meet each week and taxpayers are always invited to attend the Commission's weekly open meetings. If you have a specific concern, please request agenda time. Be an active part of your county government by attending meetings, listening and learning.
