County Starts $4 Million in Road, Bridge Work

Kingman County's 2017 hot mix overlay and bridge program will include 30 miles of surfacing and a new bridge over Smoots Creek. Total cost of the projects is $4.3 million.

The Smoots Creek bridge (FAS #18) is on NE 100th Ave. just south of the US-54/K-14 interchange. A tentative start date is July 17. The new bridge will be built by King Construction of Hesston at a cost of $1,649,827.30. Completion is anticipated in June 2018.
